“She’s an outspoken opponent of Republican initiatives she sees as undermining public schools. Even so, she has worked across the aisle in other areas, including pre-natal care and human trafficking.” – Orlando Sentinel, 10/15/2014
Standing Up for Education
From shifting money from our public schools to private school vouchers, to a broken accountability system, folks in Tallahassee have made a mess of our schools. Karen has been in the classroom Monday through Friday, and so she knows firsthand what’s not working and how to fix it.
The Right Priorities
Karen will make sure that programs that foster art, drama and athletics get the funding they need, and she’ll push the legislature to invest in early education.
Rewarding Hard Work in Florida
Protecting the middle class and making sure that people who work hard and play by the rules have a chance to succeed is important to Karen. She will work to ensure women with the same skills and qualifications as men get paid the same for the same job.
